These terms apply when you visit, create an account on, or take part in TLOU Esports. Please read them together with the rules displayed for each ladder, event or match and our privacy policy. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. About TLOU Esports
TLOU Esports is an independent community competition platform for The Last of Us players. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sony Interactive Entertainment or Naughty Dog. We may update, pause or withdraw a competition or site feature when needed for security, fairness or maintenance. We will try to explain material changes where practical.
2. Accounts and eligibility
Use accurate registration information, including an email address you control and your own PlayStation Network name. Keep your login secure, do not share your account, and tell us promptly through support if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it was caused by our failure to take reasonable care.
One person must not use multiple accounts to evade restrictions, manipulate results or claim repeated benefits. We may investigate linked accounts using account, session and match information, with staff review. You must meet any age, location, platform or event-specific entry requirements shown before joining a competition; do not claim an eligibility requirement that you do not meet. Account creation alone does not guarantee a place in any event.
3. Teams, matches and results
Read the rules, schedule, map rotation and result-reporting instructions for the ladder or event you enter. Team leaders and players must use correct rosters, attend agreed matches, follow match instructions and submit truthful results and genuine evidence. Do not play using someone else's account or manipulate Elo, rankings, the crown, achievements or playoff eligibility. Creating or accepting a match may commit your team to its agreed time and settings.
When a match is disputed, provide relevant evidence within the times shown on the match page and respond to staff requests. Staff may review match messages, screenshots, recordings, account activity and available audit records and can correct results, forfeit or cancel matches, adjust rankings, or apply proportionate penalties. We aim to explain decisions and offer a route to raise a concern through support. Historic results may remain visible if a team changes or disbands.
Competition formats, prize details, deadlines and eligibility rules are those published for the specific event. A paid pass does not guarantee wins, ranking, a playoff place or a prize. Prizes, if offered, are subject to the event's published conditions and verification of eligibility; do not assume a season pass itself purchases a prize entry.
4. Community conduct
Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, discriminate against or dox anyone. Do not cheat, exploit bugs, upload unlawful or malicious material, spam, abuse support, disrupt the site or attempt to access another person's account or private data. Do not post personal information or media of others without the rights and permission needed to do so. Report suspected cheating or abuse through the appropriate match or support tools rather than publishing private accusations.
5. Season passes and checkout
The site can be used to play a ladder without buying a pass. Freedom, Competitor and Crew are optional, season-specific digital benefits. The pass page shows the current price in US dollars, benefits and available checkout for the selected season before you pay. Passes are one-off purchases for that season, not recurring subscriptions. An active Freedom holder may see a half-price Competitor upgrade for the same season; checkout calculates the actual price on the server. Crew includes the stated number of separate gift codes. Pass features or eligibility can change under published season rules, but we will not silently remove paid benefits already promised for an active season without addressing affected purchases.
Payments are handled by PayPal. We receive the order, amount, status and transaction identifiers needed to activate the pass, keep records and resolve disputes; we do not receive your full card details. A pass becomes active after payment is confirmed. Do not pay twice if the result is being checked; contact support with your transaction details.
6. Gift codes, cancellations and refunds
Some purchases issue a single-use code for the chosen season. Share it privately with the intended recipient; anyone with an unused valid code may be able to redeem it. The recipient must use their own account, the season must remain available, and existing tier restrictions apply. Codes cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred after redemption. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, its unused code and any benefit redeemed from it may be disabled.
Contact support if you purchased in error, a feature does not work as described, a code fails, or you want to cancel or request a refund. Include the order reference; do not send card details. We assess requests under applicable consumer law and PayPal's payment process. Buying a pass does not remove any legal cancellation or remedy rights. Digital access can start immediately; any loss of a statutory cooling-off right for digital content requires the steps required by law, including express consent and acknowledgement where applicable. We do not treat use of a pass alone as a blanket waiver. Refunds may revoke related benefits and codes, subject to your legal rights.
7. Profiles, uploads and site content
You keep rights to content you upload, such as avatars, banners and match evidence. You grant us permission to host, display and process it as needed to run the site, publish the parts you choose to make public, investigate disputes and enforce these terms. You must have the rights to upload and share it. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law. Site branding, design and original materials remain with their respective owners; do not copy our code or use site assets in a way that suggests endorsement.
8. Changes, access and responsibility
We may warn, restrict, suspend or close accounts or remove content when reasonably necessary to enforce the rules, protect users or comply with law. Serious or repeated misconduct can lead to longer restrictions. Tell us through support if you think a decision is wrong. We may change these terms and show an updated date; material changes will be communicated where reasonably possible and will not take away rights already accrued under a purchase.
We take reasonable care in providing the platform but cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee or losses caused by your breach of these terms.
9. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If you have a complaint, question about a purchase or a concern about an account, contact TLOU Esports support. We will review it and tell you the next step.
